Our client in Lusaka is looking for a Security Manager to join their team for a vacancy in the agriculture industry.

Job Summary / Purpose of the role

The Security Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of personnel, assets, and facilities within the organization’s operations in Zambia. They develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols to mitigate risks and safeguard against threats. The Security Manager coordinates security measures with internal stakeholders and external agencies to maintain a secure environment conducive to business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols to safeguard personnel, assets, and facilities.
  • Conduct risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
  • Manage security operations, including access control, surveillance systems, and incident response.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies and community leaders, to address security concerns and mitigate risks.
  • Lead investigations into security incidents, breaches, and thefts, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Provide security awareness training to employees and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for emergencies.
  • Monitor and analyse security intelligence to identify emerging threats and develop proactive security measures.
  • Prepare security reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.

Qualifications and Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in security management, Criminal Justice, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in security management, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting.
  • Proven track record of implementing security policies and procedures.

Preferred

  • Professional certifications in security management (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP).
  • Experience working with government agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • Familiarity with local security laws, regulations, and cultural sensitivities.
