Job Title: Sales and Reservations Assistant

Location: Harare @ Head Office

 

Our client who is one of Zimbabwe’s leading hospitality groups that offers unique land and lake experiences is looking for a dynamic and outgoing Sales and Reservations professional based at the Head Office to actively sell and promote safari experiences at any one of the lodges around Zimbabwe and/or cruise boats on the iconic Lake Kariba. The targeted market segments include the local travel agents, corporate and government clientele, NGOs, and local/internation tour operators.

 

Key Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develops relationships with major clients and establishes new clients for the business units within the group.
  • Produces the necessary reports required by the Group Head of Sales and Marketing
  • Fosters good relationships with key contacts & product buyers in the leisure safaris sector.
  • Meetings with prospective clients to sell Epic Wildlife Safaris and Lake Kariba Houseboat cruise itineraries.
  • Performs all necessary administrative activities as outlined in the company’s regulations (SOP)
  • Conduct face to face calls to promote the new southern regional units, Fig Tree Lodge, Day Trip Centre, and The Schools Camp
  • Manage administrational activities of the Harare Sales Office
  • FITs and Group Series tour management, bookings, and invoicing

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Computer savvy, with knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a sales or reservations role, ideally in the hospitality or tourism business
  • Sales diploma or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is an excellent attention to detail.
  • Planning, prioritizing, and working well under pressure in a dynamic environment are also required.
  • The candidate must be a good team player and motivated to work independently.
  • Strong public relations, sales, and influencing abilities are also required.
  • Knowledge of the local safaris sales and tour planning is advantageous.
