Position Overview:

  • An engineering and construction company is seeking to place a results-driven Sales Executive to service the Copperbelt and Northwestern Provinces of Zambia. The position is aimed at servicing mainly the mines and mining contractors through actively seeking out and engaging customer prospects, maintain existing clients and identify new product and service opportunities. Furthermore, to provide complete and appropriate solutions for every customer (existing and new) to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels and profitability. This position will be the lead point of contact for all customer matters and communication relating to the mining sector and related sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a continuous flow of projects, leads, and prospects into the company’s pipeline including effective integration of your own personal contact database and relationships
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs
  • Develop and nurture strong Customer Relationships, understanding their challenges and our solutions in all territories between major key clients with the ability to deal at all levels within an enterprise
  • Provide feedback within the company on time to grow the pipeline and continuously improve through feedback.
  • Carry out analysis of Product profitability and market acceptance by Customers.
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Keep abreast of best practices, services, product applications, technical requirements, market conditions, competitive activities
  • Be current with effective marketing and branding activities, advertising, and promotional trends ensuring continuous Innovation
  • Be mindful to mitigate risk and relieve specific customers, territories, and industries
  • Analyze the territory/market potential, track sales, and status reports, and focus on territory growth and expansion
  • Expedite resolution of customer problems and complaints to manage customer expectations and maximize satisfaction

Education & Qualifications

  • Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering Diploma or Degree. Masters, an added advantage

Skills

  • Proven experience in business development, sales management, or a similar role in the mining sector.
  • Strong track record of achieving sales targets and growing business.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of market trends and competitive landscape in the mining sector.
