Position Overview:
The HR Manager will lead and manage all human resources functions within a livestock company in Rwanda, ensuring the development and implementation of effective HR strategies aligned with business objectives. This role will focus on talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and organizational development to support the company’s growth in the livestock market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures tailored to the livestock industry in Rwanda, ensuring compliance with local labor laws.
  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, and offboarding.
  • Implement strategies for workforce planning, talent retention, and succession planning to meet business needs.
  • Promote employee engagement, ensuring a positive working environment and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Lead initiatives for skills development, training programs, and employee upskilling specific to the livestock industry.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and welfare standards across all operational sites.
  • Manage compensation and benefits, ensuring market competitiveness and alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align HR strategies with organizational goals and the company’s mission in the livestock market.
  • Oversee HR administrative tasks such as payroll management, leave tracking, and employee records.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to HR staff and ensure the HR department operates efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of HR management experience, preferably in agriculture, livestock, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of Rwandan labour laws and employment regulations.
  • Proven experience in talent management, employee relations, and organizational development.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to industry-specific challenges and provide strategic HR support to a dynamic workforce.
