We’re looking for a strategic Tax Group Manager to oversee tax planning and compliance for our client. This role involves leading a team and ensuring adherence to tax regulations. Responsibilities:
Tax Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement global tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position while ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws.
- Identify and manage tax risks, providing advice on structuring and transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and new product development.
- Provide guidance on the tax implications of expansion into new jurisdictions or markets.
- Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax filings (corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, etc.) in all operating jurisdictions.
- Oversee preparation and review of tax returns, statutory reports, and financial statements, ensuring all tax-related disclosures are accurate and in compliance with accounting standards (IFRS or GAAP).
- Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, ensuring favorable outcomes for the company.
Transfer Pricing & International Tax:
- Manage transfer pricing policies and documentation to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
- Monitor changes in international tax regulations (e.g., OECD guidelines) and assess their impact on the company’s tax strategy.
Tax Advisory & Support:
- Provide tax support and advisory services to the finance team and other business units, particularly in relation to CFD products, brokerage services, and financial trading.
- Partner with external tax advisors and legal teams to ensure that tax positions taken are defendable and compliant with current laws.
- Work closely with the GCFO, GFC, senior leadership, and external auditors to align the company’s tax strategy with broader business goals.
- Serve as the main point of contact for tax matters across the group.
Tax Risk Management:
- Ensure robust internal controls over tax reporting and compliance.
- Continuously assess the company’s tax risk profile and provide proactive recommendations to minimize exposure.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Economics, Business or a related field.
- ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified with significant PQE in Financial Services.
- Proven experience in managing international tax matters, including transfer pricing, VAT, and corporate tax in multiple jurisdictions.
- In-depth knowledge of cross-border transactions and demonstrated experience in managing complex tax (re)structuring projects from inception to completion.
- Highly organised and able to work and delegate accordingly to tight deadlines
- Strong problem solving abilities and being able to implement new processes and policies
- Good knowledge in MS Excel, Word and accounting software
- Fluency in English is required (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work collaboratively within a global team environment, to work in a fast-moving environment and to meet ambitious goals with multiple competing priorities
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge and experience in using SAP S4 HANA
