Our client in Kenya in the workspace provider industry is recruiting for a Hospitality Manager. The responsibility of the Hospitality Manager will be threefold: overseeing events, Food and Beverage and Room Service, delivering a top-tier experience for members and clients in each workspace location. This role involves collaborating with sales, CRMs, and the hospitality team to meet customer expectations and ensure exceptional service quality. The manager will oversee dining services within the centres, ensuring food and beverages consistently meet high standards, while also providing comprehensive training for team members. This position will enhance the food and beverage experience across centres contributing to a welcoming and professional environment for all members.

Responsibilities

General Hospitality

  • Planning and execution of member and non-member events – this should include advance planning of a calendar of member events, execution of such events including mobilizing inter department teams, project management, and taking overall responsibility for each event.
  • Manage the Food and Beverage services – overall insights on all revenue events, member events, F&B events in all Centers, including procurement and replacement of components and equipment in all locations.
  • Ensuring excellence in Hospitality Services across centre dining, cafe, bar, kitchens, and room services, including procurement and replacement of components and equipment in all locations.
  • Execution of the Culinary program set by the Executive Chef.
  • Planning and execution of all catered meetings and events in liaison with Events sales team.
  • Managing the weekly hospitality staff roster required for smooth operations.
  • Conduct weekly trainings as per Hospitality training program.
  • Supervision of Lead hosts, Events Hosts, and Lead Barista, to ensure a smooth delivery of all events.
  • Managing inventory in the centers for F&B and events.
  • Ensure daily billing and reporting is complete by close of business, with no open bills.
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of Head of Hospitality (Sales, Expenses, Inventory) to executive chef.
  • Working with all event support teams – tech, facility management, to ensure timely and correct set-ups and support.
  • Logging of maintenance calls.
  • Attending all meetings needed to manage your role.
  • Working with the marketing team to design and execute event communications that promote member events.
  • Manage POS support for F&B sales and Events.

Meeting Rooms and Events

  • Work with the Head of F&B and events teams to create systems to track the booking and forward planning of events so that deadlines and budgets are always met.
  • Work with the Hospitality team and the CRMs to maintain ongoing hospitality staff training.
  • Work with the Programming team to ensure space training is always up to date and that there is smooth communications. Channel between the Events and Product Control teams.
  • Propose trends, technology, and leading innovations for new event formats and collaborate to deliver.
  • Posting and analysing post-event reports and feedback surveys
  • Ensure standardized set-ups.

Food & Beverage in Assigned Centres

  • Conduct Toolbox meetings with hosts and baristas.
  • Continuous evaluation and training of F&B hosts and baristas on Hospitality standards with support of the executive chef.
  • Supervise F&B operations – Supervise all hospitality operations especially events
  • Manage the POS System and reporting.
  • Scheduling staff in weekly shifts roster and request for any hired services by lead host
  • Staff management (with HR) and leave management-moved to executive chef.
  • Responsible of the procurement process for centre F&B in coordination with Stock Controller-moved to restaurant manager.

Centres

  • Oversee set-up of floor kitchens in line with F&B SOPs
  • Review of monthly CGS stock from Operations, F&B, Meetings & Events to ensure standard allocations and use is optimized.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Hospitality experience fostering a diverse network and knowledge to execute events large and small.
  • Customer experience driven
  • Collaborative and communicates well to provide direction /delegation to efficiently accomplish tasks at hand
  • Project management experience
  • Research, operational skills, and extraordinary relationship building skills
  • Ability to multitask and execute under pressure and in demanding fast-paced environments.
  • Flexible schedule – long hours and regular evening event coverage is common
  • Restaurant management experience a plus.
