Overview

As a Data Engineer reporting directly to the Group Treasurer, you will play a key role in leading
the group’s data strategy for Treasury operations. You will be responsible for defining, implementing,
and optimising data infrastructure, while also contributing to the support of technical solutions that
align with Treasury’s objectives. Collaborating across teams, you will provide actionable insights and
innovative tools to support liquidity management, risk analysis, and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

● Data Integration and Modelling: Design and optimise data pipelines to integrate financial
and operational data with internal and external infrastructure such as banks using APIs and
tools such as Databricks. Create robust data models to support Treasury analytics, including
cash flow forecasting and liquidity analysis.
● Data Visualisation: Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to present key financial
insights, enabling effective decision-making by the Treasury team.
● Support Solution Development: Assist in designing, developing, and supporting technical
solutions for Treasury processes, including automation and reporting systems.
● Automation and Optimisation: Automate data workflows, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
in processes such as reporting, risk assessment, and liquidity planning.
● Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Establish and maintain relationships with Product
Management and other departments to ensure alignment of Treasury data requirements with
organisational needs.
● Real-Time Analytics: Enable real-time data processing and visualisation for critical Treasury
metrics, ensuring timely responses to market and operational changes.
● Collaboration: Work closely with Treasury, Finance, and Risk teams to identify data
requirements and deliver actionable insights.
● Data Governance: Implement data governance practices to ensure accuracy, security, and
compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
● Problem-Solving and Innovation: Troubleshoot data issues and identify opportunities to
improve existing systems and processes.

Requirements:

● Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
● A minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering or a related role, with a focus on financial data.
● Proven ability to build a data strategy within a complex organisation.
● Proficiency in Python for data processing, financial modelling, and automation.
● Expertise in Databricks and related data engineering frameworks.
● Knowledge of Power BI for data visualisation and reporting.
● Solid understanding of financial modelling principles.
● Experience working with APIs to integrate external data sources.
● Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and data warehousing tools.
● Experience in developing and supporting technical solutions for business operations.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
● A good sense of humor

Desirable:

Experience with Treasury Management Systems (TMS) or SAP S/4HANA.
● Knowledge of financial reporting concepts and compliance requirements.
● Familiarity with cryptocurrencies or blockchain-based financial systems.
● Exposure to machine learning or predictive analytics in finance.
