We are currently assisting one of our esteemed clients in the recruitment of a Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This critical role involves overseeing accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will work closely with senior management, providing valuable insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with [relevant accounting standards like IFRS or GAAP].
  • General Ledger Oversight: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and accurate reconciliation.
  • Month-End and Year-End Closings: Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and preparation of supporting reports.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure tax filings are accurate and completed on time, including VAT and corporate tax returns.
  • Audit Preparation: Coordinate with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during the annual audit process.
  • Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial data and assets.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing financial forecasts and annual budgets to support business planning.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and performance management.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide actionable insights to senior management.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate and optimize accounting processes to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with company policies.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, with a minimum of 2 years in a senior role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership skills, including experience managing a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
