Our client in Nairobi in the hospitality industry is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Banquet Manager to oversee the seamless execution of banqueting events and F&B services across their six centers. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, possesses excellent organizational skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Duties and Responsibilities

Event Coordination

  • Assist in coordinating all aspects of banqueting events from planning to execution.
  • Creating BEO forms directly from information provided by Events Manager and team members for each event.
  • Manage and continuously training event hosts and F&B hosts assigned to events.
  • Collaborate with events team and clients to understand their event requirements and preferences.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication with internal teams and external vendors to fulfill event specifications.

Team Management

  • Provide support to the banqueting team by assigning tasks and ensuring their completion.
  • Supervise banquet staff during events, ensuring adherence to service standards and protocols.
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance the skills of junior staff members.

Guest Satisfaction

  • Ensure the highest level of guest satisfaction by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Monitor event proceedings to guarantee smooth flow and handle any unexpected situations effectively.
  • Gather feedback from clients and guests to continuously improve banqueting services.

Operations Management

  • Oversee the setup and breakdown of banquet spaces, including arranging furniture, decor, and equipment as per event requirements.
  • Coordinate with the culinary team to ensure timely delivery of food and beverages, maintaining quality and presentation standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for banquet supplies as needed.

Financial Management

  • Assist in budgeting and cost control measures to maximize profitability
  • Track expenses related to banqueting operations and reconcile accounts accurately
  • Identify opportunities for revenue generation and cost saving initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in banqueting, event planning, or hospitality industry is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational and and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and POS Software
  • Certification in Food Handling and Alcohol Service.
