Our client with manufacturing and retail operations in Zimbabwe is looking for a qualified and experienced candidate to join their team in the Workshop Manager capacity. He/she would be responsible for fleet maintenance and report to the operations manager.
Responsibilities
- Workshop management
- Ensure adequate supply of equipment needs
- Breakdown management
- Staff management
- Vehicle maintenance to ensure vehicle availability
- Vehicle repairs
- Communication with operations manager to confirm availability of vehicles to ensure the delivery system is maintained.
- Liaison with stores and procurement to ensure supply chain is maintained.
- Cost analysis and management
- Budget management
- Training and mentoring
Requirements
- Mechanical engineering degree or apprentice trained heavy diesel mechanic
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a workshop environment with a minimum of 5 years’ experience at Workshop Manager level.
- Good financial understanding
- Good reporting and communication skills
- Experience with 3-5 tonne delivery trucks would be an added advantage.
