Our client in Hermanus, Cape Town is looking for a Dealer Principal to join their team for a job vacancy within the Property/Real Estate industry.
The Dealer Principal is responsible for ensuring that the agency operates in compliance with the regulations set by the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB).
Qualifications:
- The Dealer Principal must hold a FETC: Real Estate (Further Education and Training Certificate in Real Estate)
- They must be registered with the Estate Agency Affairs Board (EAAB).
- A valid Fidelity Fund Certificate (FFC) is required for the Dealer Principal as well as any other estate agents working under them.
Experience:
- The Dealer Principal should have at least 3 years of experience as a real estate agent or as a senior member in a real estate business.
Compliance:
- They must comply with the Estate Agency Affairs Act, National Credit Act, and other relevant regulations governing real estate in South Africa.
- Ensuring that all estate agents within the agency comply with the same standards and regulations.
Professional Development:
Dealer Principals are encouraged to engage in ongoing professional development and training to remain compliant and up-to-date with industry standards and legal requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities of a Dealer Principal:
Management and Supervision:
The Dealer Principal is responsible for managing the daily operations of the real estate agency.
They supervise and oversee the activities of all estate agents in the agency, ensuring they adhere to legal, ethical, and operational standards.
They are responsible for the recruitment, training, and development of staff, including agents.
Legal and Ethical Compliance:Ensure the agency operates in compliance with all laws and regulations governing real estate practice.
Oversee the maintenance and renewal of all necessary documentation, including Fidelity Fund Certificates for agents.
Ensure the agency follows proper procedures for trust accounts, ensuring client funds are handled correctly and in line with legal requirements.
Enforce ethical business practices among all employees.
Financial Oversight:
Oversee the financial management of the agency, including budgeting, setting commission structures, and ensuring that trust accounts are properly managed.
Ensure that the agency’s finances are handled in accordance with the law, especially regarding trust account management and transactions.
Marketing and Business Development:
Oversee the development and implementation of marketing strategies to attract clients and grow the business.
Create and maintain relationships with key industry players, such as developers, property owners, and potential clients.
Record-Keeping and Reporting:
Keep accurate records of all transactions, client communications, and agreements.
Provide regular reports to regulatory bodies, such as the EAAB, as required by law.
Dispute Resolution and Risk Management:
Handle complaints and disputes between clients, agents, and other parties involved in property transactions.
Take appropriate action to manage risks, including potential legal disputes or liability issues.
Training and Mentoring:
Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior estate agents to help them succeed and grow within the industry.
