Our client in Harare is looking for a proactive and dependable Projects Officer to join their team for a job vacancy within the FMCG Retail industry.
The Project Officer will be responsible for supporting and coordinating various projects across the FMCG retail operations. This role will focus on ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in line with the company’s strategic goals. The Project Officer will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement initiatives that improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experience, and contribute to the company’s growth.

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the planning, execution, and delivery of projects in line with company goals.
- Coordinate project resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Develop project plans and schedules, ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and track project progress.
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, operations, finance, etc.) to ensure smooth project execution.
- Act as a point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and any changes to timelines or scope.
- Organize and facilitate project meetings, ensuring stakeholders are aligned on objectives and progress.
- Proactively identify project risks and issues and work with the team to find solutions.
- Ensure mitigation plans are in place for any potential disruptions to the project timeline or goals.
- Provide regular reports on project progress, highlighting milestones, risks, and achievements.
- Analyse project outcomes to identify areas of improvement and ensure the successful completion of each project.
- Track project budgets and ensure all costs remain within the allocated budget.
- Continuously review and improve project processes to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist in implementing new tools, systems, or methodologies to improve project outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in project management within an FMCG or retail environment.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
