Our client in Harare is looking for a dynamic and mature Solar Design Engineer to join their team for a job vacancy within the Renewable Energy industry.
The successful candidate will assist the Senior Engineers and Project Managers with Solar PV and energy storage projects across the African continent. Working as part of a small but rapidly growing team you will need to be able to take on and master various roles within the business unit and in the company. The successful candidate will be exposed to many facets of an extremely dynamic and exciting company. You will be required to travel across the African continent as required by the Senior Engineering team

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Preliminary project scoping and Compilation of Proposals
- Design of Solar and battery storage projects
- Support project management throughout project execution
- Assisting with licensing and permitting applications
- Undertake Site checks to confirm correct installation against design and quality control
- Commissioning of Solar Systems
- Technical Support and client liaison
- Assistance with ad-hoc engineering tasks
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders via face to face and through virtual communication tools.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- At least 5 years of experience in a Solar Engineer role
- Valid Passport
- Demonstrated proficiency in design and understanding of LV/MV electrical reticulation
- Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IEC, SANS, NEC, or local standards).
- Knowledge of the relevant health and safety requirements
- The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- “Out the box” problem solving
- Own transportation is required
