PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To manage group distribution, logistics and warehouse departments to satisfy customer service needs whilst optimizing the utilization of assets and the department’s performance to remain competitive.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT AND ALIGNEMENT:
Champion the development of group distribution strategy incorporating customer service, talent development, management of service providers, and environmental sustainability objectives
Supports strategic direction and business objectives and contribute to achievement of organisational goals.
Manage SLAs with service providers – warehousing, forklift, rent, training
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate continuous improvement
Build and sustain positive relationships with key distribution leadership members, stakeholders and clients.
Cultivate productive working relationship and build organisational capability and responsiveness.
OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT:
Serve as a centre of excellence for all distribution functions – Raw materials, WIP, FG, Dispatch, pallet yard and waste processing.
Manage stock accuracy and quality.
Establishing standards for all the distribution processes.
Manage cost optimisation in distribution and across the supply chain.
Oversee warehouse (internal and external) optimisation.
Manage SLA with all service providers and internal departments.
Risk management.
Reduction of supply chain waste.
Project management – from scoping to delivery.
