Our client in Harare is looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant to join their team for a job vacancy within the wholesale FMCG industry.

 

We are looking for a highly skilled Chartered Accountant (CA) to join our FMCG wholesale firm. The ideal candidate must have strong analytical skills, excellent financial reporting abilities, and in-depth knowledge of accounting principles. This role involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing financial insights to support business growth and profitability.

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
  • Generate detailed management reports on financial performance, profitability, and cash flow.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor financial trends and recommend strategies for cost reduction and revenue growth.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
  • Assist in financial planning to ensure sustainable business growth.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate tax, VAT, and other statutory regulations.
  • Prepare and file tax returns in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls to prevent fraud and errors.
  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to support operational needs.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of financial records and bank statements.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in an FMCG or wholesale environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Pastel).
