Our client in Harare is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team for a job vacancy within the FMCG Manufacturing industry.
Our client, a leading player in the FMCG manufacturing industry, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with hands-on experience in high-speed production environments. The ideal candidate will possess proven expertise with Laser Biscuit Line and Syntegon packaging machinery.

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery to minimize downtime.
- Provide technical expertise and support for the operation of Laser Biscuit Line and Laser Biscuit Sandwich Model SM32.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Syntegon Packaging Machines, including Syntegon SIG 203 and Syntegon Pack 201.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and recommend improvements to enhance machine performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with production and electrical teams to ensure smooth plant operations and maintenance scheduling.
- Implement engineering solutions that drive efficiency, safety, and product quality.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Train and mentor junior technicians on equipment handling and maintenance procedures.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in an FMCG or similar high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Proven expertise in Laser Biscuit Line and Syntegon packaging machinery.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
